One-day Awareness Programme on the Rich Cultural Heritage of Manipur
Manipur, known as the “Jewel of India”, is a land of scenic beauty, harmony, and deep-rooted traditions. Its cultural heritage is a blend of ancient tribal customs, classical art forms, colorful festivals, traditional crafts, and rich folklore. This heritage reflects the diverse ethnic communities that inhabit the state, including Meiteis, Nagas, Kukis, and other hill tribes.
A one-day Awareness programme on the Rich Cultural Heritage of Manipur was organised on the 21st May, 2024 at Thoubal Melaground, Thoubal. The programme was attended by many culture activists, scholars and enthusiastic artistes from various places of the State. There was a felicitation programme at the end of the Programme.
Awareness Programme on Modern Manipuri Music
Modern Manipuri songs represent a vibrant fusion of traditional Meitei musical elements with contemporary genres like pop, rock, hip-hop, and electronic music. Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Manipur, these songs reflect the evolving musical tastes of the younger generation while preserving the essence of Manipuri identity.
A One-day Awareness programme on Modern Manipuri Music was organised in association with local schools of Thoubal area. A large number of students and music lovers participated in the programme. During the programme, young talented singers performed in groups. The programme was highly appreciated by the local people, especially the parents of the students. They suggested organising similar programme in the coming years.
